This is a wonderful opportunity to comment on Packer Pottery. I was introduced to Norris's work at the Orem Farmers Market and immediately fell in love with it. His glazings were fascinating and his carvings were just perfect for the pieces involved. I was amazed to learn that he is using glazes that are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. I bought a beautiful bowl which has graced our table often. It is like serving from a true work of art and each time I use it, I marvel at its beauty. Thanks, Norris, for using your talents to give us so much beauty.

Oh Norris! I love these pieces! What a talent you have. I am making a list of what I want so I can save up and get my own collection over time. :-) I will probably start with a brown and blue pitcher and bowl, and then maybe get each child their own super cool hot cocoa mug (not matching, they all want to be unique). Btw, the child count will be up to 5 next January! I will keep in touch and send in my first order when I can - I hope the shipping from Utah to Texas would get here without breaking!

Sorry. thought I had posted my reply. Yes you can cook in them no problem. Only in the oven and microwave, not on the stove top or open flame. The glazes are commercial and lead-free - now worries about anything coming off - they are hard as stone. And, you can throw them in the dishwasher too. I use mugs I've had for 20 years.

This is such beautiful work, Norris! I had a question about the pie plates, because I'm interested in one of them--can you actually cook in them? It won't affect the glazing, and the glazing won't affect the food? The pottery won't break in the oven? Probably seems like a stupid question...just goes to my ignorance in using ceramic dishware.
